Cleaner Technologies in Leather Processing |
|
A workshop titled “Benefits of Chrome
Recovery/Recycling & Reuse” was held on March 01, 2005 at
National Institute of Leather Technology” (NILT). This
workshop was aimed to train the professionals and
production staff of tanneries on the aforesaid subject,
through practical demonstration.
Objective
The main objective to organize this workshop was to give
the practical demonstration of chrome recovery/recycling &
reuse procedures with the aim to train the professionals
of tanneries.

Proceedings
The workshop was started at 2:00 PM with the
recitation of “Sora-e-Ikhlas”, by Engineer Majid
Hussain,Environmental
Engineer, CTP-KT.
Total 29 participants attended this workshop and shown
their interest in it. A file having, detail
presentationregarding chrome recovery/recycling & reuse methods,
was presented to the participants at the reception
desk, at the time of registration.
After recitation of Holy Quran, a brief introduction
of workshop was given to the participants by Mr. Ayaz
Ahsan, Environmental Scientist, CTP-KT. After
introduction, a presentation on “Benefits of Chrome
Recovery/Recycling & Reuse” was given by Mr. Rashid Ahmed,
Deputy Project Coordinator CTP-KT. Practical
demonstration was also given to the participants of
the workshop in a friendly environmental.
After the presentation and practical demonstration,
Mr. Hafiz Arshad, Production Manager of Mian Mohammed Shafi
& Company, shared his experience with the participants
of workshop regarding installation of chrome
recovery plant and benefits of recovery and reuse of
recovered chrome. Many questions, regarding the reuse of
recovered chrome were asked to Mr. Arshad by the
participants
After this discussion, a Question & Answer (QA’s)
session was started and many questions were discussed
in
detail with CTP-KT team.
After QA session, feed back was obtained from the
participants regarding this workshop, on prescribed
feed back
form. Feedback was received from all 29 participants.
At the end of workshop, certificates were presented to
all the participants of workshop.
The workshop was ended with the vote of thanks, at
5:00 PM, and refreshment was served to all the
participants.
